Why we need your email address

If you decide to join greatvenue, we need to have your email address. This means that we can be sure that everyone contributing to the site is not a spammer or a robot that will destroy or post misleading information. We also need to send you emails for things such as if you forget your password.

• We will sometimes collect demographic information to help us better understand our users, this helps us improve the site for the people who are actually using it
• We don't use your email address to send you you spam emails
• We won’'t sell or provide your email address or details to marketers or other companies
• If you want to sign up to our newsletter, we may ask you to provide us with information such as you name, email address
• For matters regarding your account we will communicate with you via email. We will send you an email when you sign up to confirm your email address and so that you have a record of your user information
• We will send you a password reset email if you forget your password
• You don’t have to tell us any additional personal information, but as you know we are keenly trying to improve access for all types of disabilities, so if do have a disability then it can really help us to know about some of the challenges you face. We NEVER share personal information or information about individual user’s disabilities to anyone
• Greatvenue may use cookies which will record information about how you use the Greatvenue site. Cookies are stored on your local hard drive. These are good for you (MMM Cookies) as they do things like remembering your password and user name so that you don’t have to enter these each time. You may adjust your Internet settings to not allow Greatvenue to create cookies, however you may not be able to experience all the functions that Greatvenue has.
• For our own purposes we log analytical information about our users, this includes information about what pages they visit, what IP address they visit from, the type of internet browser they use, times, dates and other bits and pieces. However we do not this information in a way that can identify individual users.
• Greatvenue may allow third party advertisers to place advertisements on our site, these ads may also request cookies to be stored on your local computer.
• Greatvenue may enter into a sponsorship arrangement with other products or services, co-brand or join with other parties from time to time. If you access another site via a link on Greatvenue, we may share information with that other site.
• Greatvenue may employ third party agent(s) to deliver some of the Greatvenue service. Greatvenue will only share identifiable user information with companies acting as our agents where they agree to keep such information confidential, secure and use it only for that purpose.
• If Greatvenue is bought, merges or is acquired by another company then this company will obtain access to Greatvenue’s information, including user information.
• We will disclose information if requested by a legal obligation, or in specific cases where we believe someone is causing damage, injury or interfering with our rights and/or property.
• Photos that you upload to Greatvenue remain your property, by uploading a photo you give us licence to use the photo, royalty free anywhere in the world. This licence ends when you remove the photo from Greatvenue. Photos of a venue can help people with disabilities determine whether that venue will be suitable for them, therefore please take care to display photos which show good information about the venue s accessibility.
• You remain responsible for the content of the photos that you contribute. If the photo shows a person, you should seek permission from this person before uploading the photo. Photos which have content which is offensive will be removed from the website.
